Ingredients
  

For the beef

  • 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak), thinly sliced Slice against the grain for tenderness.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce Can use low-sodium soy sauce for less sodium.
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Helps thicken the sauce and tenderize beef.
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Use oil with high smoke point.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For the vegetables

  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (like bell peppers, broccoli, and carrots) Feel free to customize based on seasonality.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch.
  • Add the sliced beef, coat it well, and let it marinate for about 15 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat.
  • Add the marinated beef and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until browned. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and ginger; stir-fry for about 30 seconds.
  • Add mixed vegetables and stir-fry for another 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  • Return the beef to the skillet, mix well, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Cook for another minute, then serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

For added flavor, consider garnishing with sliced green onions or sesame seeds. Leftover stir fry can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
