  • 2 large large eggs
  • 1 cup milk Feel free to use almond milk or a non-dairy alternative for a lactose-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon Adjust according to taste; more can be added for a spicier kick.
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Butter for cooking Use a generous pat for frying.
  • Cinnamon roll frosting Optional for drizzling.

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar until well combined and frothy.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat, then add a generous pat of butter.
  • Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, thoroughly coating both sides.

Cooking

  • Place the coated slices in the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and slightly crispy.

Serving

  • Serve hot, drizzling with cinnamon roll frosting if desired.

Notes

Serve with powdered sugar, whipped cream, or fresh fruit. Drizzle with maple syrup, or pair with crispy bacon. For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days. Reheat in a toaster or skillet. Can also freeze slices with parchment in between.
