  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup nut butter (almond, peanut, or any preferred type) Substitutes like sunflower seed butter can be used for nut-free options.
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup Agave syrup can be used as a vegan substitute.
  • 1/4 cup vanilla extract
  • pinch salt

Add-ins

  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts or seeds
  • 1/4 cup dried fruits (optional) Mix and match to your flavor preferences.
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips (optional) Use unsweetened for less sweetness.

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, combine the oats, nut butter, honey, and vanilla extract.
  • Mix until everything is thoroughly blended.
  • Fold in your chosen chopped nuts, any dried fruits, dark chocolate chips, and a pinch of salt.
  • Press the mixture firmly into a lined baking dish, ensuring an even spread.
  • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the mixture to set.
  • Once set, slice into bars and savor your homemade treat!

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze them wrapped in parchment for up to 3 months. For variations, add cinnamon, cocoa powder, or try different nut butters like cashew or tahini.
