  • 2/3 cup sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1/2 piece lemon juice Juice from half a lemon.
  • 2 tbsp apple juice or water Can swap for orange juice for variation.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Place the peach slices, sugar, lemon juice, and apple juice (or water) into a slow cooker. Stir to combine.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours, stirring occasionally, until the peaches are very soft and the mixture has thickened.
  • Once the mixture has reduced and darkened slightly, use an immersion blender to purée it until completely smooth.
  • Continue cooking uncovered on low for another 1–2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the peach butter is thick and spreadable.
  • Let it cool slightly, then transfer to a sterilized jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks or freeze for longer storage.

Notes

Monitor the mixture as it cooks; check for consistency during the last hour. Adjust sweetness as desired.
