  • 4 cups fresh or canned peaches (sliced) Fresh peaches are recommended, but canned peaches can be used.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar Brown sugar can be substituted for a caramelized flavor.
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon Enhances the flavor of the peaches.
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice Adds brightness to the peach filling.

Cobbler Batter

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Can be substituted with a gluten-free blend.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder Leavening agent for the batter.
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt Balances the sweetness.
  • 1 cup milk Use any type of milk.
  • 1/2 cup butter (melted) Provides richness to the batter.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Adds flavor to the batter.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the peaches, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Pour this mixture into a greased baking dish.
  • In another bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until combined.
  • Pour the batter over the peaches in the baking dish without stirring.

Baking

  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
  • Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with ice cream!

Notes

Consider serving with ice cream or whipped cream. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days and reheat before serving.
