  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Ensure it is at room temperature for easy mixing.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Can also use homemade spice blend.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Feel free to substitute with other cheeses.
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives Optional ingredient.
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onions Optional ingredient.

Preparation

  • In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with the taco seasoning. Mix until the ingredients are fully blended and creamy.
  • Spread an even layer of the cream cheese mixture over each tortilla, reaching all the edges.
  • On top of the cream cheese, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese, lettuce, diced tomatoes, and any optional ingredients you desire.
  • Carefully roll each tortilla tightly, starting from one end to the other to create a firm log shape. Wrap the rolls in plastic wrap to hold their shape.
  • Refrigerate the wrapped pinwheels for at least 1 hour to allow flavors to meld.
  • When you’re ready to serve, unwrap the tortillas and slice them into pinwheel shapes.

Notes

Taco pinwheels are versatile and pair well with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream. They can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or frozen for up to a month.
